Northwest University, Xi’an, China, CAAL Team Leader
Before becoming director of the School of Cultural Heritage at Northwest University, Xi’an, MA Jian obtained degrees from the School of Archaeology and Museology at Peking University. He is interested in the archaeology of the Eurasian Steppes and nomadic culture and specialises in field archaeology and GIS. His key projects are the Archaeological Burials in North Piedmont of the Tianshan Mountains, Xinjiang (Regional Research Fund) and Interdisciplinary Research on Shirenzigou Archaeological Sites Cluster in Balikun, Xinjiang (National Social Science Fund).
